Dead Island 2 was the now cancelled original build of Dead Island 2, originally set to be developed by Yager and published by Deep Silver. First revealed at E3 2014, it was to be the third main entry into the Dead Island series. Development was suspended in July 2015 when Yager was dropped from the project due to apparent creative differences between the studio and Deep Silver.
